Mid-Year Goals

The year is almost half over… wait a minute, what!?  It’s hard to believe, isn’t it?  It really seems like we were just recovering from our 44-day stint at Knott’s Merry Farm Christmas Crafts Village!  Actually in some ways I think we are still recovering from that great experience.  haha

I thought it would be a great time to set some goals for myself to accomplish before the end of the year.  My New Year’s goals kind of came and went, well most of them anyway, and I feel like it’s a time for new goals.  I recently wrote about my journey to become vegan, so some of the goals will be personal and focused on eating cleaner, and getting healthy and some are business based.  As a business owner, I find that all of my goals are intertwined overall. If I’m personally healthier, feeling stronger, and positive, I will be even better at running the business.  It all goes hand in hand.

These are my top goals (for now):

Complete the 30-day blog challenge I am a part of through Indie Business Network.  This is day 12!  You can find out more about it here.  I am really thankful for this challenge, it has motivated me to continue to come up with content that is interesting for you and to help us connect.

Research delicious vegan recipes and cook dinner at least 4 nights a week.  I have already started this process and I am amazed at how many great vegan recipes are out there.  Can’t wait to try them and I’ll share my favorites here in the blog.

Continue seeking out webinars and courses that will help me expand my knowledge.  I love learning and there is so much out there.

Walk 10,000 steps a day – yes, FitBit, I promise to get back to this! My tracker sends me little “reminder” messages, but sometimes I pretend I don’t see it.  haha  My challenge partner on FitBit’s website, get ready – it’s back ON!

Research holiday craft shows that we will participate in.  There are several that I feel will be a good fit for us, so as soon as the applications are available I will be applying.

Design new booth set up that is easier to transport.  We love our current red shelves, they go perfectly with our feel and color, but they are very restrictive in terms of transporting them to and from shows.  We have a great idea for a new display and can’t wait to share it with you.

Choose wonderful holiday candle scents to add to the lineup.  If you have any favorites, let me know on FaceBook or send me a note through our “contact us” page.

Design candle gift basket sets.  I have had several customers ask me for this, if you have any ideas or suggestions, I’d love to hear them.  Again, you can reach out on FaceBook or on the website’s “contact us” page.

Finalize baby shower candle gift basket – it’s going to be so cute!  I’m so excited about this; I will be including another product that also gives back to animal charities in addition to our candles – so double donations to help animals!

I wrote yesterday about how I love every aspect of owning my own business and setting these goals is so exciting!  When I was in the corporate world, working for someone else, when it came time for mid-year reviews to look at the goals for the year I would groan and dread it!  Now when thinking about goals for the rest of the year, I am thrilled!

Do you set mid-year goals for yourself?  If so, I’d love to hear them!
